Friday: I looked around London a bit…
The Amazing Telectroscope offers a view of London (proper) from New York City (Brooklyn) and vice-versa. Giant “scope”, secret tunnel under the Atlantic, the usual. I couldn’t resist checking it out during the last weekend it was open to the public.

Crazy Man
Dave Sim is the genius who wrote and drew the comic book Cerebus for 30 years. Most of that series was excellent and will continue to live on as one of the great comics. Dave Sim, unfortunately, has become progressively more crazy, probably due to living in isolation in Canada, drawing a comic book about a talking aardvark. Here’s the latest example of his madness.
It has been pointed out that we shouldn’t be surprised when a crazy person behaves in a crazy fashion. However, it’s not the craziness itself that is surprising, but the specific manner in which that craziness manifests. After having spent a good dozen years (or more) behaving like a crazy misogynist, he would prefer not to be seen as a crazy misogynist. That’s certainly a valid desire. It’s going to be tough to get people to change their thinking, though, and sending out form letters asking them to apply for a position on a Dave Sim fiends list hardly seems the most productive step.
Could this be the best film ever?
I’m not sure and I have to reserve judgment till I can see it but this is most definitely a movie I have got to see
