This Is How I Roll
I got a new computer the other day, my first iMac. You can see it there, to the left of my main PC (running Windows Vista) and my older WinXP box on the right. It’s a nice 20″ 2.4Ghz machine with the usual specs for that option. The keyboard is flat, the mouse has only 1 button and it comes with a remote control. I’m typing this on it right now. There’s things to get used to, such as the copy/paste functions being called by Command-C and V rather than Ctrl-C and V. I also can’t figure out the keystroke to go to the end of the line of text. I would expect it to be the End key and the Home key would do the opposite, but they don’t appear to do that. At least not in the applications I’ve tried. I got this to do some iPhone programming. Apple announced the Software Developer Kit for iPhone this past week, and it looks pretty good. I’d like to try cobbling together some small applications and, of course, the SDK only works on Mac computers. It was a great excuse to give in to my desire to have shiny objects in my possession. So far, so good.
